The state of corporate retail:
You know when you're sure asking won't help, but you do it anyway?
Here's an experience I had at a Big Lots store earlier today:
Me: Do you know if you received any Mattel items this week?
Big Lots Manager: No. ...wait, Mattel?
Me: Yeah, it's a toy company. They make batman and he man toys.
Manager: No, we don't have that sort of thing. No.
Me: Well, I bought ten figures here last week, and you have some on the shelf right now.
Manager: Never seen them.
